Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"My 1st visit to this restaurant.. Didn't know of this restaurant as it is not visible on the main road of Jalan Pudu. On the weekend, it is always crowded and they don't take reservation. So be prepared to wait for a table. Good Chinese home-cooked food with reasonable price. Service is fast. Parking is quite a challenge."
"Very nice food at affordable prices. Tried the steamed egg which is really silky and comes with some meat bits at the bottom, stir-fried sweet potato leaves which has a very intense wok-hey and pork belly which were deep fried to almost crispy. All 3 dishes were very tasty and cost a total of RM57. Service staff were also very friendly and no nonsense. They do not have a menu, so check out Google reviews or ask the staff for recommendation. The eatery is also accessible via the main road. It's located behind the shop at the front so can be missed if you don't look out for it. Will visit again when I'm in KL!"
"Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cost ⭐ Ambient ⭐ Accessibility ⭐ The food are ok, the portion are slightly more compared to others. Many of choices but they don’t do noodles. Can ask the staff to recommend dish of the day. Very satisfied with the food especially squid mix with prawn fried with creamy butter sauce. The parking are difficult, most of the customer will park beside the road. Friendly boss and staff, will be back again"
"Childhood food. One of a few old school stall that left in Pudu. Nostalgia and yet authentic taste. Steamed egg is a MUST try food here. Limited table, come here early to secure the seat."
"A very old restaurant that remains many people’s favourite spot for proper Chinese dishes to share. The dishes are full of flavour and quite consistent. The steamed egg is a must order. Very smooth and well seasoned, one of the best versions around. The environment is basic and can get quite stuffy and noisy during peak hours."
"The sweet and sour deep fried fish was amazing. The steamed egg was nice but too salty. The pork belly was excellent. The humongous prawn was coated with soya sauce"
"Had been loyal patron for this restaurant since childhood till now, the chef I believe second generation but the cooking style and standard was consistently excellent! Desite the serving place not so hygenic and no air con and fan also pretty lacking, always crowded and packed especially during weekends. Frankly speaking, they served the best "steamed egg" in Klang Valley, watery melt in mouth! Other famous dishes are claypot stewed lamb belly with tokee (antique cooking style), red fry claypot fish head and kangkong. Food portion was very generous and price damn reasonable!"
"This restaurant has been serving consistently great food for over 20 years, and it never disappoints! The flavors are authentic and always well-prepared, with a wide variety of dishes that have stood the test of time. It's clear that quality and tradition are a priority here. The service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere feels warm and familiar. A true gem that has remained a reliable favorite for decades!"
